I know that most of you out there are growing inpatient with the Fur*Nix projects, and this update is to explain why nothing of serious value has come out yet.

On Furbuntu...

I'm pretty sure that all of you have been scratching your head on how I would be able to design and produce a theme that is obviously furry. Well, in simple what I was wanting to do was something like this [link] (art by ~screwbald), however there is no theme engine (the thing that puts the theme together) that can do anything like that.

So my dev team and I have to to design, code, and compile an entirely new theme engine for GNOME. THAT is what has put us behind schedule.

Right now I would also like to call all willing coders to help with this new engine. If you are willing to help, please either note me, email me (theyain.riyu@gmail.com), or say so on this journal.


But before we even start to design, we are going to need to set some goals. I suggest that we all meet in an IRC chat room on Furnet. For the date and time I suggest Tuesday of next week (March 24th, 2007) at 12pm EST/5pm UTC. The chat room will be fur-dev irc://irc.furnet.org/fur-dev.

There is also a thread [link] that I suggest read and will be updated every few days on the dev process.
